Landmark Donation Propels Capital Campaign Past $10 Million
GREENVILLE, S.C. – March 24, 2026 – Legacy Early College, Greenville’s largest Title I school, announced today a $2 million donation from a generous supporter to fund the new Marion Road Campus, part of the school’s $25 million capital campaign. The gift, the largest single contribution so far in the campaign, raises the total funds raised to over $10 million, marking a key milestone in developing the Marion Road Campus in West Greenville. The donor asked to remain anonymous.
The new Marion Road campus will serve approximately 1,300 scholars in grades K4 through 8. Designed with the whole child in mind, the facility will feature modern classrooms and collaborative learning spaces not found in traditional schools, state-of-the-art science labs, a multimedia center, and outdoor classrooms. Exceptional athletic fields will give scholars the opportunity to build discipline and compete for additional academic and college opportunities. The campus is scheduled to open in winter 2027.
“I believe that a child’s zip code should not determine their educational outcomes,” said William Brown, Founder and CEO of Legacy Early College. “This gift truly puts us in the business of making a difference. It doesn’t matter what side of the tracks you were born and raised on. You deserve access to a great education and a good life. This campus will give our scholars the scholarship, the space, and the tools to pursue their big goals. We are grateful beyond words, and we are just getting started.”
